Mfg process
Compacting a particulate detergent compn contg 5-50% surfactant & 5-80% detergency builder, in a mould comprising a pair of dies which are moveable rel. towards & away from each other, wherein at least one of the dies has an elastomeric layer on an area which contacts the compn, the IMPROVEMENT wherein said elastomeric layer has a surface which contacts outside said detergent compn & a peripheral edge around said surface & has a thickness > 0.3 mm at its peripheral edge & wherein, at the peripheral edge of said area with elastomeric layer thereon, said die has a rigid rim surrounding said area said rim having an inside face which is unsdercut & in contact with said peripheral edge of said elastomeric layer & a further face which contacts the detergent compn & has a width in range 0.5-2.5 mm, whereby said further face of said rim & said surface of said elastomeric layer both contact said detergent compn during compaction thereof
