Method of continuously filtering polymer melt - Conveying melt along a path of travel while dividing the flow into a plurality of paralell primary flow paths, while - Filtering the melt by passing same through filter element dis posed in each of primary flow paths & then - Closing a selected one of the primary flow paths, & concu rrently passing a portion of melt flow through a paralell sec ondary flow path which includes an intermediate filter so that said portion of flow in the sec. flow path is filtered by pa ssing through the intermediate filter, & wherein the portion of the melt flow passing through intermediate filter flows through filter surface which is smaller than the filter surface of each of the primary flow paths |
