In a urea synthesis process comprising - Reacting NH3 with CO2 in urea synthesis zone (I) - Bringing the resultant urea synthesis soln (A), contg urea, unreacted NH3 & CO2 & water into contact with part of feed CO2 in stripping zone (II) under heating & under pressure equal to (I)'s pressure to separate said unreacted NH3 & CO2 as mixed gas (B) of NH3, CO2 & water - Treating further (A) contg unseparated unreacted NH3 & CO2 to obtain urea - Introducing the (B) separated in (II) into bottom part of a vertical condensation zone (III) to bring it into contact with an adsorption medium under cooling thereby to condense said mixed gas - Recycling the condensate to (I) The IMPROVEMENT which comprises - Providing (I) in a lower part of an apparatus - & the (III) thereon or thereabove - Providing a first down pipe that has an opening in the upper part of (III) & in the lower part of (I) to allow said (III) to co mmunicate with (I) - Providing a second down pipe that has an opening in the upper part of (I) & an opening in upper part of (II) - Delivering condensate to lower part of (I) by gravity flow through said first pipe from upper part of (III) - Circulating condensate upwardly through (I) - Delivering the thus-formed (A) to upper part of (II) by gravity flow through second pipe from upper part of (I) |
