Method of cleaning a water distribution system having microbiological scale associated with sulfate-redg & Fe bacteria - Introducing an aq acidic cleaning soln for removal of said scale consisting of Fe oxide, biomass & sediment from inside surfaces of water distribution system - Sealing off section of pipe in system for circulation of cleaning soln therethrough - Circulating said soln through section of pipe for sufficient time for solubilization, loosening &/or suspension of scale & sediment - Flushing said cleaning soln contg scale & sediment from pipe section in said system |
