Method of using Zn by-prodts in mfg clear brine fluids - Mixing Zn feedstock comprising Zn species comprising hydroxides, oxides, carbonates with halogenic acid to pro duce Zn halide soln contg impurities comprising Ni, Pb, Cd Mn, Fe, Cu, Hg, Co having pH 3.5-4.5 - Precipitating Mn, Fe from halide soln - Concentrating Zn halide soln - When the alkalinity is < 0.2% ZnO or > 0.5% ZnO, adjust alkalinity to 0.2-0.5% ZnO - Contact. Zn halide soln with particulated Zn to cement Ni, Pb, Cd, Cu, Hg, Co onto surface of Zn to obtain Zn halide soln free of Ni, Pb, Cd, Cu, Hg & Co |
