Catalyst comprising: - Amorphous Cr(III) compd & - Mg Compd wherein Cr/Mg atomic ratio is between 50:1 - 1:1, said comp ds supported on a AlF3 support & catalyst being prepd: - Impregnation of support with concd. aq. soln contg. a solu ble Cr(III) & Mg salt in molar ratio from 1 - 50 - Impregnated support dried at 100 - 120C - Treated with inert gas flow at 300 - 400C for 5 - 15 hours - Activated with a anhydrous HF flow at 300 - 400C for 15 - 30 hours |
