METHOD | During Device therapy, blood is drawn from a vein in your arm and is then pumped into an apheresis machine (cell separator). This machine separates the liquid part of your blood (the plasma) from the blood cells. Your plasma passes through the Device and, after being reunited with your blood cells, is returned to your body through a vein in your other arm (see diagram). The entire procedure treats 4-8 cups of plasma and takes approximately two hours |
