Flame retardant treat of cellulosic fabric (a) Impregnating fabric with aq soln of THP salt (b) Partially drying impregnated fabric (c) Contacting impregnated fabric with ammonia gas by pass ing fabric at 30 - 100 m/minute once through chamber of appa ratus & thereby subjecting fabric to single cure; both moisture contained in fabric & water produced as by-prodt of curing are volatilized & condensed on interior wall of chamber, said condensed water flowing down said interior wall of chamber to a drain for removal of condensed water from apparatus (d) Measuring rate of ammonia in gas fed into chamber, deter mining ammonia content of gas & measuring T within cham ber for maintaining initial concn of ammonia 70 - 90 % by vol & for keeping ratio ammonia/THP 1.2 - 1 on basis of ammo nia to P (e) Withdrawing treated fabric from chamber (f) Removing some of gas from chamber (g) Recycling some of gas back into chamber; & wherein said process further comprise heating ammonia before contac ting the fabric to 10 - 120C |
