Akzo to sell three units Akzo Nobel intends to sell three chemical businesses--catalysts, coating resins, and phosphorus chemicals--as part of a previously announced portfolio pruning. Together, the businesses have annual sales of around $1 billion. In May, the company said it would sell $500 million worth of chemical businesses. G. J. (Hans) Wijers, chairman of the firm's management board, acknowledges that the sell-off is now bigger, but adds that "we are not in a race against the clock to sell." |
