Genzyme, SangStat Announce Hart-Scott-Rodino Clearance CAMBRIDGE, Mass. and FREMONT, Calif. - Genzyme Corporation (Nasdaq: GENZ) and SangStat Medical Corporation (Nasdaq: SANG) today announced the expiration of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act related to the tender offer Genzyme commenced, through a wholly-owned subsidiary, on August 13, 2003 to purchase the outstanding shares of SangStat. The waiting period expired at 11.59 p.m. on Sept. 9. The offer and withdrawal rights will expire at 12 midnight on Sept 10, 2003, unless the offer is extended.
