CORP. INFORMATION |
NL Industries restructures NL Industries, which owns titanium dioxide-maker Kronos, is moving its headquarters from Houston to Dallas as a cost-saving measure. Not making the move are Robert D. Hardy, the company's chief financial officer, and Lawrence A. Wigdor, president and CEO of Kronos and executive vice president of NL. NL CEO J. Landis Martin left the firm last month to devote his time to Titanium Metals, where he still serves as CEO. All three men will stay on as consultants to NL. TiO2 competitor Millennium Chemicals recently saw its CEO resign and announced a round of layoffs when it reported a loss (C&EN, July 28, page 10). NL, on the other hand, reported earnings of $28.8 million for the second quarter, more than double what it posted in the same period a year ago. |
