CPChem sets plant closures Chevron Phillips Chemical will close the cumene and benzene units at its Port Arthur, Texas, facility by the end of the year. As a result, the firm will undertake a reorganization that is expected to reduce the facility's 254-person workforce by 25 to 30%. The olefins and cyclohexane plants at the site will continue to operate, CPChem says, and construction of a new cyclohexane plant will continue.
