Rohm and Haas, Omnova to form joint venture Rohm and Haas Co. and Omnova Solutions intend to form a joint venture to market, sell and service products to the paper and paperboard industry. The signing of the letter of intent to jointly market latex binders, synthetic pigments, and specialty additives used for coatings in the paper industry solidifies the formal relationship between the two companies that was first formed in January. Philadelphia-based Rohm and Haas has been working to strengthen its relationship with the Omnova of Fairlawn, Ohio, for nearly three years. Both companies expect the joint venture agreement to be finalized within a few months.
