The Food & Drug Administration, meanwhile, has no immediate plans to place any new restrictions on BPA as a result of Hunt's research. George H. Pauli, FDA associate director for science and policy in the Office of Food Additives & Safety, says: "We're continually evaluating BPA. It has been in the news for years because of its endocrine effect." And, he adds, "We haven't had time to review [Hunt's] research," but "we are obviously paying attention to its significance." |
