| DESCRIPTION |
"HyperImmune" eggs (or "immune" eggs) are obtained from chickens repeatedly inoculated with a multivalent collection of pathogens, usually bacterial in nature. Some of the organisms used in combination have been Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Salmonella typhimurium, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Streptococcus pyogenes, Staphylococcus simulans, Hemophilus influenzae, Shigella dysenteriae. The oral administration of such eggs passively transfers specific immunoglobulins that are prophylactic or therapeutic in nature, & provide differing degrees of gastrointestinal protection against the specific pathogens. Simultaneously with the production of neutralizing immunoglobulins, molecules are generated with actions reminiscent of cytokines & other immunoregulatory molecules. Many of these bioactive compounds have potent pro-inflammatory & inflammatory activities. By activating specific & non-specific cellular responses, these peptides affect the recruitment & balance of diverse populations of effector cells & their effector molecules. These immunomodulatory biochemical signals, eother directly or indirectly, govern virtually every pathway of the body, including immunological (e.g., down-regulation of autoimmune responses, up & down regulation of inflammation, etc.), emotional, sexual, hormonal, & metabolic. |
