Method of forming an image using an imaging member comprising a surface imaging layer, the method comprising - Imagewise exposing imaging member with thermal energy & forming an exposed imaging member contg exposed & unexposed areas - Contacting exposed member with neutral aq soln, whereby the unexposed areas are rendered more hydrophilic - Contacting the exposed member with a lithographic ink, whereby the unexposed regions remain free of ink & - Imagewise transferring the ink to a receiving material In which the imaging member comprises - Support - The surface imaging layer comprises a heat-sens. poly mer comprising recurring units & polymer backbone - The heat-sens. polymer comprises a 5-membered cyclic anhydride group within polymer backbone - At least 25% of units are 5-member cyclic anhydride group - The heat-sens. polymer has MW > 5,000 |
