SUBJECT |
DuPont shares wheat gene data DuPont has made its wheat genome data public and is providing unrestricted access through NIH's GenBank database. DuPont's contribution consists of more than 200,000 lines of expressed sequence tags--portions of a gene that can be used to locate an entire gene. DuPont researchers believe that sharing the data, which more than doubles that available for wheat through GenBank, will help advance research and nutritional applications in cereal crops. DuPont's Pioneer Hi-Bred unit is developing improved wheat varieties. |
