Co. says it has achieved a breakthrough in the manufacture of semiconducting organic polymers that can be used as substrates for printing electronic circuits. Speaking at a conference last week, Co.'s Author said the company has developed polythiophene materials that possess good electrical properties and, in contrast to other proposed polymers, are stable in air. Plastic semiconductors are of interest to industry because they would not need the expensive fabrication facilities now required for their silicon-based counterparts
