Abbott slates biologics plant Abbott Laboratories plans to build a $350 million biopharmaceutical plant by 2006 in Barceloneta, P.R. The company, which recently expanded biologics manufacturing in Worcester, Mass., says it wants to ensure long-term capacity for commercial biologics production. The plant will add 104 acres to the existing Abbott site, which includes fermentation and chemical synthesis for pharmaceuticals. |
