Co has declared force majeure in nylon production in North America following an explosion and fire at its Freeport, Texas, plant earlier this month. The company has curtailed production and is uncertain when full production will resume or supply restrictions will be lifted. On the morning of Sept. 13, a railcar containing cyclohexanone oxime, which is used in making nylon, exploded. Six people received minor injuries, and one of two caprolactam plants was affected. The cause of the explosion is still being investigated.
