Liquid coat compn - Comp of water-soluble polymer solid at 25C, contg > 1% N bonded into amido moiety & soluble in water > 5% at 25C at normal atm. pressure - Comp of film forming polymer soluble in water to extent < 4.5% at 25C & normal atm. pressure but is stably dispersed in coat. compn - Comp. of gas filled, polymer walled microballoons having the properties that (i) stably dispersed in compn & remain stably dispersed & not irreversibly expanded when coat. compn is maintained at < 65C & (ii) when exposed for > 5 min to 80-95C, they undergo an irreversible expansion, without wall rupture, so as to produce an expanded form which has a d. < 0.5 times their d. before having expanded, said coat compn having the property that it can be formed into a liquid coat over metal or plastic solid substrate & the thus-formed liquid coat can be converted, by heat to < 65C under normal atm. pressure for < 1 hour, into a coherent solid coat. that adheres to substrate |
