Method for in vitro fertilization of human oocytes from a se xually mature female - Obtaining immature oocytes at a first stage of prophase development wherein no in vitro incubation has taken place - Directly incubating said immature oocytes in a medium wherein the medium consists of an oocyte maturation inhibi tor which increases levels of cyclic adenosine monophos phate in the oocytes & a culture medium, wherein a second stage of prophase development occurs after incubation with said maturation inhibitor - Incubating said immature oocytes in a medium without said oocyte maturation inhibitor, wherein mature oocytes are pro duced - Fertilizing in vitro said mature oocytes with sperm to produ ce at least one fertilized oocyte - Culturing said fertilized oocyte to produce an embryo - Transferring embryo to uterus of a human |
