A strong personality more than a strong parent Co. is behind Avra Labs. A.V. Rama Rao who founded the firm, is an authority on organic synbthesis research who has been invited on several occasions to lecture at U.S.-based pharma. companies. From 1975 to 1977 he was a research fellow of Nobel Laureate E.J. Corey's at Harvard University. From 1985 to 1995, he was director of Indian Institute of Chemical Technology. Rather than fading into obscurity upon its retirement from IICT, in 1995 at the age of 60, he founded Co. This research lab exists primarily to KEEP ME BUSY, NOT TO MAKE MONEY "I also use it to provide work experience to Ph.D. students. Although Co. is a commercial entity, Ph.D. students will soon be able to perform academic work there. |
