The new unit uses gas-phase production & metallocene ca
talyst technology & represents the first extension of this technology to EPR prodts. The facility can produce ethylene-propene copolymers & terpolymers with diene monomers that are sold as free-flowing granules contg C black as a partitioning agent. The agent is required because, at the T of gas-phase processes, the polymer is very sticky & must be dispersed. C black also helps to dissipate the static charge that is common in polyolefin production units
