As part of a revamp of its regulations governing animal feed additives, propor sed prohibiting the use of antibiotics as growth promoters for animal feed by 01.2006. 4 antibiotics are currently authorized as growth promoters: flavo phospholipol, monesin sodium, salinomycin sodium & avilamycin. It took that action because of concerns of spreading resistance to antibiotics used in human medical therapy. Other measures in the new proposal cover how all feed additives are evaluated for efficacy & safety |
