Now considering legislation that would require recycling of waste electrical & electronic equipment. Beginning in 2006, for instance, the proposal would require recycling of 80% of large appliances & 75% of telecommunication equipment by weight.
“The targets here are actually tougher to meet because electronic equipment contains fewer metal components than do cars”. And then there is another problem that could complicate PU foam recycling. Polychlorinated biphenyl contg capacitors used in regrigerators & other electronic equipment could contaminate foams, making them especially difficult to clean & recycle
