TECHNOLOGY Question:
I have read patents & publications related to alpha olefin dimerization. Virtua
lly all of this literature discloses catalysts that produce branched dimmers. However my process requires a source of LINEAR internal olefins. Could linear dimerization be used to satisfy my needs?

Answer:
Absolutely. With its recently disclosed patented proprietary technology for linear dimerization, Co can dimerize a wide range of alpha olefins to form linear internal olefin prodts
Using our technology, it is possible to make dimmers that are > 75% linear & as little as 20% methyl-branched. This high linearity represents a dramatic improvement over currently available commercial dimmer prodts. The catalysts are capable of dimerizing any high-purity alpha olefin, such as C4 – C30+ NAO
