| PATENT CLAIMS |
(1) Reacting glyceride of fatty acid of formula R-COOH; R = 5-25C aliphatic radical contg 0-5 C=C with an amine of formula H2N-CH2CH2OH to produce an amide of formula R-CO-NH-CH2CH2-OH & glycerol
(2) Adding an aq acid soln to reaction mixt from (1) until pH = 1-7, in order to bring about phase sepn into glycerol-contg aq phase & an organic phase contg the amide, followed by sepn off the aq phase, thereby sepn off the glycerol
(3) Reacting amide with EO, PO &/or butylene oxide to produce alkoxylated amide
