Catalyst system comprises Pt-group-metal catalyst, co-catalyst, quat. salt & base. Recovery process comprises steps (a) The reaction soln is transferred from a reactor for producing di-aryl carbonate into an apparatus suitable for suspension crystallization (b) The said crystallization is initiated in said apparatus by T redn to form crystallizate (c) Said crystallizate, which consists mainly od di-aryl carbonate & parent aromatic diol is separated from residual catalyst-contg mother liquor, said separated crystallizate is washed with a water-free wash soln comprising the aromatic diol or mixt of diaryl carbonate & aromatic diol & the wash soln is recycled into the production of diaryl carbonate (d) Said crystallizate is worked up to pure diaryl carbonate & pure aromatic diol (e) Said mother liquor is recycled into said reactor for producing diaryl carbonate or is worked up to recover said Pt-group-metal catalyst |
