In a method for mfg Cu by electrorefining wherein Cu is electrodeposited into Cu cathode starting sheets in electrolytic production cells from an impure Cu anode, the IMPROVEMENT comprising using as the Cu cathode starting sheet a wrought Cu cathode starting sheet produced by - Melting refined Cu - Continuously casting the molten Cu into a cast form for working into a sheet - Redn thickness of said casting from 25-98% by mechanically working the cast Cu into a wrought sheet - Trimming the wrought sheet into discrete rectangular sheets suitable for use as starting sheet or as starting sheet blank for the electrolytic deposition of Cu thereof - Forming support means on the sheet for having the sheet vertically on an electrorefining cell - & having thickness 0.015-0.123 inch |
