A process for prepg F-contg compds which comprises reacting compd contg > one X which can be replaced by F with a fluoride of formula - KAT.F where KAT is alkali metal ion, NH4 ion, alkaline earth metal ion or ABCDN ion, where A-D are, independently of one another, identical or different & are each 1-12C straight-chain or branched alkyl or alkenyl, 4-8C cycloalkyl, 6-12C aryl or 7-12C aralkyl in the presence of - Amidophosphonium compd of formula [(EF)N][(GH)N][(IJ)N][(KL)N]P cation . B anion; where E-L are, independently of one another, identical or different & are each 1-12C straight-chain or branched alkyl or alkenyl 4-8C cycloalkyl, 6-12C aryl, 7-12C aralkyl, or EF, GH, IJ, KL are independently of one another, identical or different & are bound to one another either directly or via O or N-R to form a ring having 3-7 ring atoms, R = 1-4C alkyl & B is a monovalent acid anion or the equivalent of a polyvalent acid anion, & in the presence of - Compd selected from (IVa) X-NO2; (IVb) X-SO-X'; where X,X' = 6-18C aryl, 5-18C aryloxy, arylthio or R'R''R'''C where R',R'',R''' are H, 1-12C alkyl or alkenyl, 4-8C cycloalkyl at 40-260C |
