- Reacting in gas phase in reaction zone, trichloroethylene with CF3-CH2Cl & HF, operating with trichloroethylene/CF3 CH2Cl = 5/95 to 50/50, with HF/(trichloroethylene+CF3CH2 Cl) > 3/1, at T = 300-400C at pressure < 15 atm, & in the presence of catalyst comprising Cr2O3 carried on AlF3 in the gamma &/or beta form, to produce reaction prodt inclu ding CF3-CH2F - Continuously recycling to reaction zone the unreacted trichloroethylene & CF3-CH2Cl from the reaction prodt leaving the reaction zone & continuously restoring the reagent molar ratios defined in (a) by the addition to reac tion zone of fresh trichloroethylene & HF |
