Method for maintaining constant concn of substances contained in an electrolytic treat. bath comprising the steps of continually adding fresh treat liquid contg the active substances consumed during electrolytic treat to the treat. bath, the amount of treat. liquid added being selected to maintain a preselected concn of active substances in the electrolytic treat. bath & being independent of the quantity of treat. liquid lost through evaporation & removal of treated items; & draining a defined adjustable vol. flow of treat. liquid from the treat. bath continuously or intermittently, without the liquid overflowing from the bath because of an increase in its vol., & this defined adjustable vol. flow being set at a constant ratio to the vol. flow of the added fresh treat. liquid
