Method for removing deposits comprising heavy hydrocarbo naceous materials & finely divided inorganic particulate materials from a tank, the method comprising a) Injecting an aq surfactant compn comprising aq soln contg - Alkyl (9-19C) polyglycoside surfactant (0.1-20%) - Ethoxylated alc (0.1-15%) selected from ethoxylated alkyl (6-16C) alc contg 2-6 EO & ethoxylated alkyl (8-14C) phenols contg 2-8 EO - Caustic (0.5-30%) selected from NaOH, KOH, NH4OH - Alkyl (4-6C) alc (0.1-10%) into the tank to fill tank to selected level b) Retaining aq surfactant compn in tank for selected time c) Removing at least major portion of the aq surfactant compn contg major portion of the heavy hydrocarbonaceous materials from the deposits contacted by the aq surfactant compn below selected level |
