Process for analyzing waste gas stream to determine concn of VOC contained therein, comprising - Sampling the waste gas stream to establish a continuous waste gas flow through, in seq., a waste gas line, a switching valve & first vent line - Periodically diverting portion of the waste gas flow at the switching valve - Feeding the diverted portion of the waste gas flow in a first direction through a sorbent in an organics concentrator, pref. sorbing the VOC on said sorbent, & venting, through second vent line, the remaining waste gas free of VOC - Periodically discontinuing the feed of the diverted waste gas flow through the sorbent & feeding a carrier gas through the sorbent in a second direction, opposite said first direc tion, for desorbing the VOC from the sorbent thus forming a concentrated gas sample - Periodically feeding the concentrated gas sample to a gas chromatograph for analysis of the concd gas sample to de termine concn of VOC - Blending various amounts of the VOC with gaseous carrier to form calibration samples contg known, different concn of the at least one VOC - Feeding the calibration samples through the sorbent in the organics concentrator for sorbing & desorbing of the calibration samples - Feeding the calibration samples desorbed from the sor bent to the gas chromatograph for analysis & calibration of the apparatus |
