Biocompatible supplemented tissue sealant compn - At least one supplement selected from group: antibiotic anesthetic, anticoagulant, CV drug, anti-inflammatory compd cytotoxin or cell proliferation inhibitor, osteogenic compd., cartilage inducing compd., protease inhibitor, steroid analgesic, antifungal, antiangiogenin, antifibrinolytic compd antimicrobial, antiparasitic agent, antiseptic, antiviral compd chemotherapeutic drug, lipid or liposome, oligonucleotide or polynucleotide, an osteoconductive compd., polysaccha ride, vasoconstrictor, vasodilator, vitamin, nutritional supple ment & mineral - Fibrinogen in amount which forms fibrin matrix; (a) wherein said fibrinogen forms fibrin matrix when in presence of thrombin & Ca(II) & water; (b) Further wherein said supple ment is released from said fibrin matrix into the external environment of use for sustained period; (c) Further wherein the amount of supplement in compn is greater than amount of supplement which is soluble in fibrin matrix & (d) wherein said sustained period is greater than the period obtained according to simple diffusion linetics |
