Process for producing particles of light-insensitive organic Ag salt, said particles contg Ag behenate - Prepg soln or dispersion A, contg alkali metal or NH4 salt of an organic compd with at least one acidic H atom, said organic compd including behenic acid in mixt of water & an organic solvent, at T at which particles of said light insensi tive organic Ag salt contg Ag behenate do not undergo redn - Adding a quantity of an aq soln B of Ag salt contg equal number of Ag ions to the alkali or NH4 ions in soln or dis persion A Wherein an initial mixing number during said addition of B to A is > 0.0002 during said production of said particles of Ag behenate, said mixing number being defined as ratio of the molar rate at which said Ag salt is supplied to A in reactor to molar rate at which alkali or NH4 salt of organic compd is circulated in reactor; & wherein said Ag behenate particles are not associated with Hg &/or Pb ions |
