- Scrubbing the CVD exhaust to form a scrubber soln having gaseous & particulate Ge material & Si oxide & hypochlo rite therein - Equalizing & neutralizing the scrubber soln to form an equa lized & neutralized Ge soln having a required pH to main tain the soly. of the Si oxide & hypochlorite therein - Reducing hypochlorites in the equalized & neutralized Ge soln to form hypochlorite reduced Ge soln - Precipitating & neutralizing the hypochlorite reduced Ge soln by adding a metal cationic salt to form a precipitated & neutralized soln having a cationic germanate salt & a cationic metasilicate salt therein - Flocculating the precipitated & neutralized soln to aggrega te germanate & metasilicate solids therein to form a floccu lation soln - Collecting the flocculation soln & forming a flocculated mate rial - Drying the flocculated material to produce a dry sludge of Ge - Forming the dry sludge into filter cakes for recycling |
