PATENT CLAIMS Method for controlling the flow of fluid in subterranean formation having at least first region having (i) Na cation & (ii) first permeability K1, with respect to said fluid
- Making an inhibitive electrolyte soln having water & at
least one inhibitive compd., i.e. a salt
- Making clay slurry by mixing > 20% of clay with said electro
lyte soln so that, to the extent clay gel is produced, if any
the flowability of clay slurry is not inhibited
- Injecting said clay slurry into formation, so that at least a
portion of clay slurry contacts first region having Na cation
- Allowing clay gel to form in first region so that K1 is reduced
to produce lower permeability K1L with respect to fluid
- Controlling flow of majority of fluid into or from first region
