Mfg process - Feeding, to a reactor, a soln comprised of bisphenol-A, wa ter & water miscible solvent to at least partially form a reaction mass having a liquid phase contg 15-65% water - During (a) feeding a stream of gaseous bromine to the reaction mass, such gaseous feed stream having a Reynold's number > 40,000 - During (a), providing for the presence in the reaction mass of (i) 50-20,000 ppm unreacted bromine & (ii) < 20% HBr the ppm & wt % HBr values being based upon the total wt of the liquid phase of reaction mass - During (a) forming a reaction mass ppcc phase which com prises > 96% tetrabromobisphenol-A, the wt. % being based on the total wt. of the ppcc. phase |
