Tris(2,4,6-tribromophenoxy)-s-1,3,5-triazine mfg process - In an aq reaction medium, brominating phenol with Br under conditions forming an aq HBr acid phase & an organic pha se consisting of molten 2,4,6-tribromophenol - Separating the aq HBr acid phase & the molten 2,4,6-tri-Br phenol from each other, & optionally washing the molten 2,4,6-tri-Br phenol with aq decolorizing soln - Mixing an alkali metal base & water with at least a portion of the 2,4,6-tri-Br phenol of - to form an alkali metal salt of tri-Br phenol; & - in the mixt consisting essentially of water & at least one liquid ketone, reacting cyanuric chloride with at least a portion of the alkali metal 2,4,6-tri-Br phenolate of (c) such that title prodt is produced |
