Vapor permeable & waterproof article of manufacture selected from: rainwear, tent, chair cover, shoe, mattress cover, underslating for a roofing structure, medical purpose garment, & a dressing, which contains a non-porous waterproof film having water vapour permeability of > 1000 g/square.m day determined at 30C & 50% RH in accordance with ASTM E96-66 made from a copolyether amide composed of - Polyamide segment A comprising monomer units of struc ture: -[CO(CH2)3-NH-]- & EO-contg polyamide segment B - Polyamide segment B comprising monomer units of struc ture: -[HN-G-NH-CO-C6H10-CO-]-; wherein G stands for a divalent group remaining after the removal of the amino ter minated groups od a polyoxyalkylene diamine which is connected via one or more lactam units included among the polyamide segments A according to the former formula with a dicarboxylic acid unit Characterised in that the copolyether amide - Is made uo of 10-30% of EO groups - Composed of 30-60% of polyamide segments A & 70-40% of polyamide segments B contg the said monomer units wherein G has meaning of polyoxyalkylene group having MW 600-6000 & an atomic C/O = 2-4.3 |
