Light-insensitive thermographic recording material comprising a colourless support & a thermosensitive element, contg a light-insensitive organic Ag salt, an organic reducing agent for said Ag salt in thermal working relationship therewith & a binder, wherein a blue pigment or dye having an absorption max in wavelength range 550-700 nm is uniformly distributed in a layer on either side of said support, which blue pigment or dye provides a background for viewing in transmission images produced with said light-insensitive thermographic recording material, & wherein said blue pigment or dye is selected from the group consisting of phthalocyanine dyes, phthalocyanine pigments indanthrone dyes & indanthrone pigments
