PATENT CLAIMS Method of scrubbing S compds from gas contg S oxide
- Providing source of Na sulfate soln
- Contacting said source with CO2 & NH3 while maintaining
soln at > 32C to form ppcc of NaHCO3
- Recovering as a prodt said ppcc of NaHCO3
- Filtering as a prodt said ppcc of NaHCO3
- Treating the remaining soln of third step with sufficient NH3
to form a saturated soln of ammonium sulfate & a ppcc of
Na sulfate from said soln
- Recovering as a prodt said ppcc of Na sulfate
- Recovering ammonium sulfate as a prodt from the remai
ning soln of sixth step
- Washing residual Na sulfate out of said NaHCO3 ppcc
- Converting said ppcc of NaHCO3 into Na2CO3 ppcc
- Introducing dry Na carbonate into a conditioning vessel
for removal of S oxide compd
