Method of displacement washing cellulose pulp in a washing system having a plurality of stages with a filtrate from each stage, the stages in seq. being N, N+1, through N+Z where Z is a whole number > 1, & the stages including filtrates Fn, Fn+1, through Fn+z, where Z > 1. said method comprising - Feeding cellulose pulp to the washing system stages, in seq., including the stages N & N+1 - Washing the pulp in the washing system, including stages N & N+1, & discharging the washed pulp from the system - Feeding a wash liquid to each stage of the system - Removing at least one filtrate from each stage of the sys tem, including filtrates Fn & Fn+1 Wherein third & fourth steps are practiced so that a part Fn:x of the filtrate Fn is combined together with only all or part of filtrate Fn+1, to produce combined filtrate, & the combined filtrate is fed to washing stage N during third step |
