Process for producing a photothermographic recording material having a support & photo-addressable thermally developable element contg a photosensitive AgX in catalytic association with light insensitive Ag salt of organic carboxylic acid, said salt being Ag salt of fatty acid, an organic reducing agent for said fatty acid Ag salt in thermal working relationship therewith, a binder including a water-soluble binder, a water-dispersible binder or mixt thereof, & surfactant said process comprising the steps - Producing an aq dispersion contg AgX, fatty acid Ag salt reducing agent, binder & surfactant, wherein the medium for said dispersion is water - Coating said aq dispersion onto support Wherein > 90 mole % of AgX is AgI & aq dispersion further contains diazine compd being phthalazine which is > 10 mole % of said fatty acid Ag salt |
