Method of making mono-substituted fluorinated oxetane having the structure: Oxetane-3-R-3-[CH2(CH2)nRf]; Oxetane = 4-member cycle; n = 1-3, R = Me or Et; Rf = 1-20C perfluoro alkyl - Providing mono-substituted oxetane premonomer having structure: Oxetane-3-R-3-CH2X, said premonomer being mixed with water to provide an aq mixt - Charging a reaction vessel with said aq mixt of said premo nomer, fluoro-alc having formula Rf-CH2OH, phase trans fer catalyst & strong base to form reaction mixt - Heating reaction mixt until the reaction is complete & forms the FOX monomer as an organic layer |
