PATENT CLAIMS Process for forming production print on at least portion of surface of game ball
- Providing game ball having a surface
- Coating at least portion of surface with layer of an UV cure
water-insoluble production ink yielding an inked surface,
said ink comprising (i) Prepolymer having > 2 prepolymer
functional moieties, wherein prepolymer is selected from
first acrylate, an ester & mixt thereof & > one polymerizable
monomer; (ii) Photoinitiator; (iii) Adhesion promoting comp
selected from: carboxylic acid functional monomer, oligo
mer, an ester functional monomer, oligomer & mixt thereof,
said adhesion promoting comp having > one adhesion
promoting functional moiety comprising > 2 moles of carbo
nyl functionality per mole of said adhesion promoting comp
& being sufficient to maintain adhesion > 75% of said inked
surface to topcoat & to said surface of game ball after UV
radiation cure & after coating said production ink with said
topcoat
- Curing said layer of UV radiation from UV irradiation source
- Coating cured inked surface with topcoat
