Method of making a gerbil with gastric ulcer - Obtaining Mongolian gerbil of an inbred line which is deprived of food for 16-24 hours prior to adm of Helicobac ter pylori - Adm H. pylori to gerbil of (a) such that gastric ulcers deve lop using an oral probe, said H. pylori being prepd by method: Culturing H. pylori in a selective liquid nutrient medium under microaerobic conditions for 24 hours such that H. pylori is selected wherein said liquid medium is selected from the group consisting of GC medium, Brucella medium & brain heart infusion medium, further wherein said liquid medium is supplemented with inactivated horse serum - Depriving the gerbil (b) of food & water for > 3 hours after adm of H. pylori - Maintaining gerbil (c) for > 6 months wherein the H. pylori colonizes & forms gastric ulcer |
