- Subjecting alloy billet comprising Si (0.9-3%); Mg (0.3-0.6%) Fe (< 0.3%); Ti (0.005-0.1%) & Al (Bal.) to soaking treat at 350-480C for 2-12 hours - Extruding at 380-450C - Aging treat at 170-200C for 2-8 hours. Thereby obtaining an extruded article which has precipitated metallic Si particles uniformly distributed therein & including those of particle sizes in range 0.1-2 micro.m (< 85%) & has the ability to emit a dark gray color of an achromatic color tone in consequence of an anodic oxidation thereof |
